    Responsibilities

    • Create, collect, review and analyze investment related reports on a monthly basis (yield schedules, investment income schedules, etc.)
    • Perform analysis on investment income reporting for certain investment types (corporate bonds, real estate, mortgage loans, etc.)
    • Will handle all variance explanations (Actual vs. Plan, Reforecast, Etc.) for certain investment types
    • Analyze investment yields for accuracy
    • Assists in the investment planning process
    • Handles Spread Analysis – Actual
    • Works with AFG Finance as it pertains to certain investment activity (BA Assets, CLO’s, yield analysis, etc.)
    • Reconcile all investment data from source to financial statements
    • Work with investment accounting on material variances from expected amounts
    • Prepare Enterprise Risk Management investment related schedules
    • Complete Investment related surveys from rating agencies
    • Assist in Investment research projects (accounting questions, capital questions, etc.)
    • Prepare, review and be able to discuss investment related reports provided to senior management
    • Process improvement – Look at new ways to make the tasks above more efficient

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
    • 2-4 years of experience in accounting or finance (investment accounting experience is preferred)
    • Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel as well as experience with investment accounting systems such as Clearwater
    • Strong attention to detail is required
    • Must be an effective communicator, both orally and written and must be deadline driven
    • This position will require additional hours (including weekends) during certain times of the year to meet various deadlines
